Mapping FrameMaker Styles to WebWorks Publisher Styles

Paragraph styles

Paragraph mappings do most of the work in defining how the output document will look, and you will probably spend more time working on paragraph mappings than any other mapping.

The following sections describe how paragraph styles are automapped and how you can manually map them.

Automapping paragraph styles

Publisher automaps Publisher paragraph styles with those FrameMaker paragraph styles whose names exactly match. Automapping is case-sensitive, and spaces affect the result, so the FrameMaker style "Heading1" is automapped to "Heading1," but "heading1" and "Heading 1" are not. If the FrameMaker style does not have an exact Publisher style match, the automatically assigned Publisher style is "Default."

Manually mapping paragraph styles

You can change paragraph style mappings during the project creation process through the New Project wizard (see Creating a new project). After the project is created, you can change paragraph mappings from the Properties dialog box.

Here's how to change paragraph mappings:

  1. Display the Properties dialog box for the whole project or a specific file (see Viewing mappings for details).
By default, the Paragraph subtab of the Mappings tab is displayed.

  1. To change a mapping, click anywhere in the row containing the style, then select the WebWorks Publisher style you want to assign from the drop-down list near the bottom of the tab. Repeat the procedure for each paragraph style you want to map.
